Rob is a journalist and photographer based in the North West of Ireland. He is drawn to telling stories about communities and regions impacted by imperialism, borders and migration through collaboration with writers, sociologists, activists and charities.
Rob began his career in Egypt following the fall of the Mubarak government. His work from his time based in the Middle East saw him awarded a contract at The Times and was based in London from 2013 to 2023. His work has been commissioned and featured in prestigious publications and organisations across the world including the Financial Times, the Guardian, Le Monde, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Times, The Wall Street Journal and Vanity Fair. He also worked with leading charities including The National Trust and has been the official photographer for the annual The Palestine Festival of Literature since 2014. 
He is the recipient of some prestigious awards, including two Magenta Foundation Flash Forward Awards, the Times/Canon Young Photographer of the Year, and the Magnum Photos 30 under 30 Award.
Rob has coauthored several publications including Tilbury (2018), Removal: A Short Guide to the United Kingdom's Immigration Detention Estate (2017) and most recently, What Does a Jew Look Like? (2022), a collection of portraits and interviews showcasing the diversity of Britain's Jewish population, was published by Five Leaves Books in collaboration with Keith Kahn-Harris. 
Rob holds an MA in Documentary Photography & Photojournalism from London College of Communication, a BSC. in Mathematics from the University of Leeds and PGCE in Secondary Education from Kingston University.
